Artist Bio: In the shadows of Sacramento’s freeway, I grew up surrounded by hardship and survival. Each day, I navigated the cultural divide between poverty and middle-class life while going to school. This journey highlighted my sense of cultural dislocation, never fully belonging to either world. My work is a raw reflection of these experiences, expressing the relentless struggle for survival. Through my art, I give voice to the voiceless, shedding light on the harsh realities of life at the bottom. With an MFA from Alfred University, I now lead the ceramics department at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, driven by a passion to empower and inspire.
