Porcelaneous stoneware, wheel thrown with extruded handle and cut feet, local stone glaze with wax resist, cone 10 reduction. MJA2 Josh is from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Floyd, Virginia where he and his potter wife Hona work out of a 60’s era dairy barn that they converted into a studio. He began his lifelong journey in the ceramics arts as a teenager working for and apprenticing with local potteries. He has traveled extensively, made several pilgrimages to China, been a resident artist at the Cub Creek Foundation in Appomattox, VA, and holds an MFA from West Virginia University. Josh is a potter and educator dedicated to his craft and the pursuit of making thoughtful objects for the hand and home.
