Artist's Bio
Ruth Ehrenkrantz is a working clay artist making decorative raku vessels. Her focus is exploring surface treatments in raku. She cuts her own brass ribs which enables her to experiment with form and curvature profiles. She is drawn to the simplicity of the black and white patterning of naked raku. This process is a is a collaborative dance with chance; she can control many aspects of the firing process, but can’t predict what the end result will be. Each piece is one of a kind.
