Instructor: Michelle Kim

When Michelle Kim first found pottery in 2015, it changed the course of her life. Now she is back in Maryland, pursuing a career in art therapy. Michelle enjoys teaching and witnessing passion grow in others. She believes art has the power to change lives and bring communities together. Drawn to pottery by its meditative nature, Michelle is always losing herself in the process whether that be throwing on the wheel or carving her pots. Her labor-intensive work never feels like labor as each carving is like a weight lifted from her shoulders. Michelle enjoys creating functional pottery that can then go on to be a part of someone else’s story. She is pursuing a Master’s in Art Therapy at Notre Dame of Maryland University in the fall.
